The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildmay not officially allow players to go underwater, but one player has found a way around it. Using what appears to be a glitch, they have found a few ways to get under the surface of the game’s beautiful, blue water.
As documented on Twitter by Swiffy22,Breath of the Wildplayers are able to get by the game’s lack of an official diving feature by getting something to knock them into the water instead. The videos embedded below show how the force of an enemy’s attack (in this case, a Stone Talus) can knock Link into the water with such force that he’s able to dip beneath the surface. Setting off a square bomb near the edge of the water also gets Link beneath the crystal blue if players don’t fancy baiting an enemy into walloping them.
Once players are underwater, Link can walk around on the bed and have a little exploration and it appears that just by walking, a few underwater areas are accessible. Since players aren’t really supposed to be in the area (this is more likely a technical glitch rather than an actual Easter egg) it doesn’t seem that there’s anything for players to discover other than the area itself. That’s good news for those slowly grinding to get 100% completioninBreath of the Wildbut disappointing for those eager to uncover more secrets in the sprawling open-world game.
Those continuing to find little quirks and oddities inBreath of the Wildshouldn’t fear though, as it seems likely that there are plenty of hidden things in the game left to see and experience. For example, just the other week some players thought that they had uncovered atribute to Satoru Iwata, the late Nintendo executive who had had a huge influence on the game.
Weirder still, one player even found abug that crashes the game when fast traveling into a horse. While that’s pretty left-field as far as glitches go, it does speak to the curiosity of fans and it also shows that plenty more peculiarBreath of the Wildfinds could be right around the corner.
