As many console owners can attest to, current-gen systems can get pretty loud while operating, with many comparing the sound to a small jet taking off. However, it appears that the Xbox Series X won’t have that issue, thanks to a “whisper quiet” fan and some neat cooling tricks.

Today, Microsoft detailed theXbox Series X’s specs, offering a complete look at just how powerful the console will be. While the console certainly has what it takes for 4K gaming, it also features parallel cooling architecture, which divides airflow across multiple streams, according to Microsoft.

Coupled with the quiet fan, Microsoft believes that the console should stay quiet and run cool– a much-appreciated change considering just how loud current consoles can get while running strenuous games. Of course, theXbox Series X allows multiple games to be suspended at once, which may prove to be a good test for the console as users run multiple games in the background.

With far greater power andinsanely fast load times, the Xbox Series X has garnered quite a bit of attention from the online community, especially as Sony chooses to remain silent with the PlayStation 5, its next-gen system. That Microsoft a pretty big advantage over its competitor, as undivided attention is sure to draw more into the Xbox ecosystem.

Of course, that all depends on which games the system is brings to the table. With the news that the Xbox Series X won’t have exclusives for some time, those looking toward next-gen games may just stick with their current hardware if it means they can play the same games– though inferior versions– and keep a few hundred extra dollars in their pockets.

Microsoft’s transparency with the Xbox Series X is great to see. So far, the console seems to pack in a ton of worthwhile changes, from operating quietly to making some nicechanges to the Xbox Series X controller. Whether or not the Xbox Series X will fully meet expectations remains to be seen, but so far, it seems like fans are in for a treat later this year, assuming the new consoles aren’t delayed.
