Now, one of mutantkind’s biggest threats comes from within. As the group 3K gears up to replace all of humanity with mutants, they’ve revealed their official roster.
3K has been a thorn in mutantkind’s sidesince the X-Menkicked off their newFrom the Ashesera, and now they’ve revealed their full roster and the timeline for their ultimate goal of replacing humanity with mutants. This isn’t some run-of-the-mill threat, either, andthe group retains both power and mystery on its side.
As mutants gathered to mourn and celebrate Krakoa duringHellfire Vigil #1, 3K invited themselves to the party via a broadcast.Cassandra Nova, Joseph (Magneto’s clone), Astra, Wire, and the anonymous Chairman were all present,confirming themselves as the central members of the 3K organization.
3K Has More Than enough Power to Take On the X-Men

Mutantkind has faced countless threats and is constantly fighting for its survival, and facing a group like 3K is theoretically just one more fight. The biggest difference is that, rather than fighting for mutant survival,they’re facing a group that wants mutants to take over everything, to the point of eliminating humanity entirely.It’s an old message with a new delivery.
They’ve already come to blows with the X-Men, demonstrating that they won’t be easy to eliminate. Their trainees lost to Cyclops' team, but 3K’s true roster isn’t amateurs. They’re tried and true villains with a range of powers that are going to be a pain to handle, at the very least, and there are still several unknown facets of the group.
Cassandra Nova was the first to reveal herself, back when the group first started to act as a thorn in the X-Men’s side, and that alone is bad news.Nova was already behind the Genoshan Massacre, which continues to be one of mutantkind’s most devastating events. Wyre, Astra, and Joseph are also known entities, but the Chairman remains a mystery.
Four known villains and a complete wild card aren’t going to be easy work.Between them, they boast incredible telepathy, combat expertise, a keen grasp of science, teleportation, the full range of Magneto’s abilities thanks to Joseph, and plenty of other tricks. In other words, they’ve got all the major bases covered, and they’ve barely started to show off.
3K’s Mysterious Chairman Assembles a Dangerous New Mutant Alliance
With Cassandra Nova by His Side, the Group Has Already Altered Human Evolution
Although it’s still anyone’s guess who 3K’s mysterious, masked Chairman actually is,he has managed to assemble a group that has no real reason to work togetheroutside the mission he has crafted. Whether he has truly brought the villains to heel or has just inspired them with promises of devastating consequences remains to be seen, but the results are the same.
The group made their debut by forcibly activating the X-Gene in adult humans, throwing the entire idea of natural evolution off course.
By placing him at the head of a group thatincludes Cassandra Nova, he essentially has his own personal Professor X.Nova nearly matches Charles Xavier in terms of psychic power,as she has a keen grasp on both telepathy and telekinesis, along with her ability to manipulate DNA. This is particularly essential for 3K.

Each Member Brings Unique Power, and Their Unity Makes Them a Greater Threat Than Ever
Wyre, Astra, and Joseph have all taken their places beside Cassandra Nova and the Chairman. To say it’s an odd group is an understatement, butthey’re all united by a goal, and that makes them even more of a threat than they are alone.Wyre and Astra are surprising choices, but both of them have plenty of experience.
Prior to his appearance in 3K, Wyre was largely associated with Alpha Flight.He was responsible for the creation of Wild Child by infecting him with his own genetically modified DNA.He’s an enhanced assassin, capable of generating and controlling inorganic tendrils, and it’s clear he’s serving as 3K’s physical powerhouse. With super strength, durability, and speed, he fits the bill.
Astra is yet another familiar face. She has the mutant gift of teleportation;her biggest claim to fame is creating a clone of Magneto, known as Joseph. The combination of teleportation with such a keen scientific mind makes Astra one of the X-Men’s most underrated villains, and she’s often been outshone by her creation. Being part of 3K changes that.
Although Astra is responsible for Joseph’s very existence, he’s the one who technicallywields Magneto’s power.Anything Max Eisenhardt can do, Joseph is theoretically capable of replicating.In fact, he’s currently probably better off than the real Magneto, who needed Beast’s aid to temporarily overcome the symptoms of R-LDS that threw his powers out of control.
With Magneto’s Clone, Nova’s Telepathy, and a Forced X-Gene, 3K Could End the X-Men’s Future
Combining Magneto’s powers with Astra’s teleportation, Wyre’s strength, Cassandra Nova’s telepathy and ability to toy with DNA, and the Chairman’s leadership,3K has a devastating combination of powers and personalities.They’ve got every ingredient to make a lasting impact on the world, and that will come at a heavy cost to current mutants and humans alike.
As 3K is claiming to be the true heirs of Krakoa,it’s clear that they do not intend to make room in the future for the mutants who oppose them.They intend to remake the world in their own image, instead, and they might actually pull it off if the X-Men don’t move fast enough to stop them.
They’ve already proven that they can turn grown humans into mutants, and no one has an answer to their forced X-Gene. The people who have already been altered have had their lives completely upturned, and they’re just the beginning.
