World of Warcraft: Shadowlandsmay not have a firm release datebut Blizzard is making the lead-up exciting for fans of the still popular online game. In it’s next shakeup, the developer is overhauling a crucial assistant to any MMO player.
Blizzard has announced that theWorld of WarcraftCompanion App will be getting a significant overhaul to prepare for the upcomingShadowlandsexpansion. Its big addition that will likely grab the most attention is theintegration ofShadowlands' Covenants and Adventures.

“Adventures” isShadowlands' new mechanic focused on strategy, where players send units off to battle. The Companion App will allow gamers to prepare these battles out via their mobile devices on either iOS or Android. While Blizzard previously explained that the feature would require players to utilize their Sanctum in the endgame ofShadowlands, now the Companion App removes the required log-in steps.
Beyond the new way to interact withShadowlands' big mini-game, the app is also receiving a large list of quality-of-life improvements. The app will have updated support content for the last major expansions includingLegionandBattle for Azeroth.On the general level, Blizzard notes that the app will now feature an updatedWoWNews section, community features including guild chat, an event calendar, and the ability for players to examine their characters and weapons.
WhileShadowlandsmight not have a firm release date, players are experiencing some massive changes as the pre-expansion patches are rolling in. Players are alreadydealing with old foes returning toWoWas theShadowlandsexpansion arrives this Fall.
