Final Fantasy 16may not be a fully open world asFF15was, but it still has quite an expansive setting to explore, even as segmented as it was. The realms of Valisthea offered quite a variety for places with plenty of impressive sights throughout the many years in which the story takes place. Throughout those years, players get to grow with the incredible cast of characters that have been known to remind people of why they love the storiesFinal Fantasygamestell in the first place.
There are plenty of memorable things about Square Enix’s latest hit RPG that will mean quite a lot to many players, which means that the company has plenty of ways to keep fans' memories ofFinal Fantasy 16close through merchandise, potential collaborations with Square Enix’s own mobile games, and more. In terms of collaborations, though, there’s one option that still holds plenty of potential that should be followed up on.FF16should make its way toMinecraftin a crossover pack.

What Final Fantasy 16 Could Bring to Minecraft
BringingFF16toMinecraftwould be a great way for players to re-experience everything that made the game great in a whole new way while also potentially exposing the game to potential future players. The biggest timeskip found in the game alone could lend itself well to great material such as new skins for characters likeClive and Jill, but also unique re-skins for creatures, like replacing the mainMinecraftwolf with Torgal.
This is only barely scratching the surface of whatMinecraftcould bring out in aFinal Fantasy 16crossover bundle. With the help of Mojang’s sandbox title, the realms ofValisthea could be made into a proper open worldwhere players make their own adventures. While it may be hard to translate the power of the Eikons and Dominants into a DLC pack inspired by the title, potions could lend well to spells, and enchantments could help allow fans to feel as powerful as many ofFF16’s main characters are regardless.
Square Enix’s History With Minecraft
It may sound unlikely that Square Enix would work with Mojang or anyMinecraftMarketplace developers to bring its characters to an entirely different game, but some players may actually be surprised to hear that they’ve collaborated before.WhenFinal Fantasy 15came out,Minecraftwas Noctis' home away from home, and he brought a whopping 42 characters with him, which gives quite a good idea of what fans could expect ifFF16gets the same treatment.
However, what fans can expect fromMinecraft’s DLC packs has changedsinceFinal Fantasy 15had its turn. What used to be simple skin packs can now easily be a much larger endeavor, ranging from skins, reskins, and full dedicated maps with ease. For instance, Pixar’sThe Incrediblesgot a skin pack roughly around the same timeFF15did, and now, a recentThe IncrediblesDLC pack expands this range even further with a dedicated map of the city from the movie, updated skins, and even special bosses.
The two separate content packs forMinecraftserve as a great example of how aFinal Fantasy 16pack will likely be far grander than the one for its predecessor. As a result, it’s likely an endeavor that both Square Enix and Mojang could benefit from. However, it may be quite some time beforeFF16DLC hits the game. Waiting a while before releasing it could mitigate spoilers for players who either don’t have the time to experience the40 hoursFinal Fantasy 16demands of playersat first, or for those who have put it on their backlog. Even still, if this collaboration came to pass, it could be a great way for players to re-experience bothMinecraftandFF16in a new and welcome way.
