DALLMYD’s videos center around Koehler’s interest in diving, and he often highlights the things he finds while exploring underwater.Koehler was invited on a free trip on theTitanto record the experience for his YouTube channel(viaPeople). He was on Mission III, just days prior to Mission V, the last voyage of theTitan.

Mission III Was Canceled Due To Inclement Weather, & Koehler Only Briefly Boarded The Titan

After the passengers on theTitan’s Mission V were pronounced dead, Jake Koehler also uploaded the footage he had of his own experience aboard the submersible in June 2023.Koehler’s YouTube videofeatures much of the same footage used inTitan: The OceanGate Disaster. The footage chronicles Koehler boarding theTitan’s mother ship, thePolar Prince, learning about OceanGate, and eventually boarding the submersible. However,Mission III was canceled due to inclement weather in the dive area, and Koehler only briefly boarded theTitan. Koehler also mentioned that a “ghost net that wrapped around the submarine and broke some of its parts.”

Throughout the video, Koehler reminded viewers that “if my dive wasn’t canceled, it could have been me inside that submarine today,” and he mentioned that the footage was taken before the implosion, so the mood among the passengers and crew was more amicable than the disaster that ensued.Koehler also mentioned that theTitanwas experiencing several issues even on his canceled mission, and he speculated about what may have caused the later implosion. He also noted that had the tragedy not followed his mission, he would treasure the experience he had with OceanGate and theTitan, even though the mission was aborted.

In the two years since the implosion of theTitan, Jake Koehler has mostly continued his life as normal.Koehler’s YouTube account, DALLMYD, has remained active over the years, and he has posted 24 new videos since he released the footage of his experience with OceanGate. Koehler actually received a community award from the Riverblast event in Columbus, Georgia, in 2024 for his work recovering weapons and lost heirlooms on his dives (viaWTVM).DALLMYD’s latest video, however, was posted on July 07, 2025, though he has uploaded shorts as recently as May 20. Koehler has taken longer breaks between videos in the past, with at least three months between uploads in one instance.

In the two years since the implosion of the Titan, Jake Koehler has mostly continued his life as normal.
