The Black Rabite is a secret boss inTrials of Mana, and PC and PS4 players that defeat it will earn themselves the Rabite Trapper achievement. However, before they can do this they must access the Black Rabite’s location inTrials of Mana, and this guide will provide details on exactly how to do that.

The first step to finding the Black Rabite inTrials of Manais to complete the game’s final story dungeon. Indeed, while players that are hunting for the Black Rabite need not concern themselves with completing all of the post-game content or discovering all of the Li’l Cactus locations, they do need to basicallyfinishTrials of Mana, and that will take approximately 30 hours to accomplish.

Once a player has beaten the last story dungeon inTrials of Manathey must then proceed to area that they visited just before. This will vary based on the character that a fan has selected in thisJRPG remake, and those that have picked Angela and Duran must visit Crystal Desert, those that have picked Charlotte and Kevin must visit Mirage Palace, and those that have picked Hawkeye and Riesz must visit Night Cavern.

Upon returning to these locations players will discover that a new statue has appeared, and it looks very much likeTrials of Mana’s Black Rabite set atop a pedestal. Now all a fan must do is interact with that statue to be transported to the cavern that thesecret bosscalls home and then defeat that boss. This is easier said than done, though, as the Black Rabite is very likely the hardest boss in the game, and players will need to prepare thoroughly if they hope to slay it.

As previously mentioned, fans that are successful in defeating the Black Rabite will be rewarded with the Rabite TrappertrophyinTrials of Mana. Additionally, they will receive the Obsidian Power chain ability that reduces the cost of using moves in battle to zero MP, and that is clearly quite powerful. While this ability may not seem particularly useful after having already defeated the Black Rabite, it may be appealing to those that plan to pursue New Game Plus in this JRPG.

Trials of Manais available now on PC, PS4, and Switch.
