What To Expect From Spider-Man: Brand New Day

The Film Should Be Key In Setting Up Avengers: Doomsday

One of the biggestSpider-Man: Brand New Dayupdates so far is that Jon Bernthal will be reprising his MCU role of Frank Castle.A team-up betweenSpider-Man and the Punisheris expected, especially since this film will focus on Spider-Man as a street-level hero. It’s the perfect place for Spider-Man to be, considering howNo Way Homeended.

As the film is directly ahead of it in the slate, it’s somewhat surprising thatThe Fantastic Four: First Stepsdid nothing to set upSpider-Man: Brand New Day.The Fantastic Four: First Steps' endingdidn’t even finish off in Earth-616 as was expected afterThunderbolts*. This means thatBrand New Dayshould largely stand on its own, while still tying to the greater MCU.

Avengers: Doomsdayhas still been barely set up in the MCU, soSpider-Man: Brand New Daymay have to do some heavy lifting, since various loose ends need to come together soon. Now that such a highly anticipated project inThe Fantastic Four: First Stepshas finally been released, fans can start seriously looking forward to the build-up toDoomsday.
