Warframe‘sDante Unbound Updatehit most platforms today, but iOS players will have to wait for its arrival due to certification problems on Apple’s storefront.
Today, developer Digital Extremes released theDante Unbound Update forWarframe, adding anew Waframefor players to collect alongside a mainstream story expansion and a host of tweaks and changes. However, iOS players will have to wait to get their hands on it because the update has been delayed somewhere in the platform’s certification process. This doesn’t make Warframe’s iOS version unplayable, but imposes a few temporary restrictions.
Warframe iOS crossplay and cross-save temporarily down
Digital Extremesalerted theWarframefan baseto the issue as soon as theDante Unbound Updatewas due to go live earlier today, so it’s a version behind other platforms. Of course, that’s temporary, but makes a bigger impact thanks to its always-online service. It’s nothing to panic about; just be aware of current restrictions as crossplay andcross-save progressionare disabled until theDante UnboundUpdate is certified and live.
For now, iOS users can only play with other iOS users. The suspension of cross-save progression makes it better to play on other platforms while you wait, too. If you’ve already sorted out your main account progression using cross-save, you’re fine. If you haven’t, and your main account progression is on iOS, you’ll need to wait forDante Unboundbefore you can set up cross-save for other platforms.
I don’t see this as anything to worry about, but some fans have been pointing out to the developer how this is something they expected with the iOS version’s release. On theWarframeforums, user _Akasha wrote, “I mean, we all saw this coming when cross-platform became a thing. At least this doesn’t mean a delay across the board for all platforms.”Warframehas long maintained tight and consistent updates, so it’s a bummer to see this over one version’s hang-ups.
At the time of writing, there’s no time frame for whenDante Unboundwill be released for iOS. Digital Extremes hasn’t outlined any sort of roadmap or deeper explanation for what is required, so it’s hard to say if the update will be released later today, tomorrow, or at some point next week.
