There were some recent teases for thenextCounter-Strikegame, and now it’s official:Counter-Strike: Global Offensivehas been announced by Valve for release on Steam (PC and Mac), PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade in early 2012. Wasn’t expecting that at all — awesome!
Global Offensivewill have fresh maps, characters, and weapons, as one would expect, in addition to updated takes on classicCScontent (de_dust was the example given), new modes, matchmaking, and leaderboards. It’s being developed by Valve in cooperation with Hidden Path Entertainment.
It’s about time, huh?Counter-Strikeis somehow more than ten years old. What. You’ll have the opportunity to play it at both PAX Prime and the Eurogamer Expo 2011.
