In September,Pokemonfans in North America had a one-week opportunity to collect a limited edition Pikachu wearing Ash Ketchum’s hat. The promotion tied in with the theatrical run ofPokemon the Movie: I Choose You!, and those who missed their chance last month have be had no other opportunities to collect the unique electric Pokemon since. Now, the Pokemon Company has announced a brand new promotion in North America to help gamers finally catch Ash’s Pikachu inPokemon SunandPokemon Moon.
If prospective trainers enter the mystery gift menu of the game and punch in the code PIKACHUM20, everyone’s favorite electric furball will make a permanent appearance on the player’s roster. Once the code is entered, players must simply talk to the delivery man in the Pokemon Center to obtain their hat-toting friend. The level 19 Pokemon comes with the moves Thunderbolt, Quick Attack, Iron Tail, and Electro Ball. Gamers will have until June 17, 2025, to input the code and get their classic-capped Pikachu, which should be plenty of time for those who haven’t yet done so.
Of course, Ash’s hat is no stranger to evolution throughout the series. The classic hat up for grabs in this promotion is none other than Ash’s original cap, which the young Pokemon trainer wore during his adventures across the Kanto and Johto regions. This has made it perhaps the most recognizable of all his headwear, and a must-have forPokemonfans who own eitherPokemon SunorPokemon Moon.
It’s not currently known if players who were able to pick up Ash’s Pikachu during September and October’s promotional run will be able to utilize this code to grab themselves a secondPokemonchum, but there’s certainly no harm in trying.
