Blizzard is teaming up with world-renowned collectibles producer Upper Deck to create these stunning trading cards. The Upper Deck Company is best known for its wide range of sports cards, but it has dipped into the video game industry before, with trading cards forHalo,Marvel, and even some based onplayers from theOverwatchLeague.
Now, Upper Deck is coming to Azeroth, Sanctuary, and beyond with the Blizzard Legacy Collection set of trading cards. Featuring characters, items, locations, emotes, and even game mechanics, the Blizzard Legacy Collection Base Set has 200 cards for players to collect drawn from games includingDiablo,Hearthstone,Heroes of the Storm,Overwatch,Starcraft, andWorld of Warcraft. Players can buy seven-pack blaster boxes of theBlizzard Legacy Collection via the Upper Deck websitefor $25 before tax and shipping.
What are Blizzard Legacy Collection Trading Cards?
This isn’t the first time Blizzard games have been seen on collectible cards. TheWorld of Warcraft Trading Card Game, also published by Upper Deck in 2005, tried to compete with TCG giantMagic: The Gathering, but was eventually discontinued in 2013 before the release of its digital counterpart,Hearthstone. TheWoWTCG was known for its exclusive in-game loot cards, many of which now sell for hundreds or thousands of dollars.Diablo Immortalalso released a set of trading cards in March 2023 through Upper Deck as well.
It remains to be seen if the Blizzard Legacy Collection will receive more card sets in the future, but given this first chunk is called a Base Set, it seems Upper Deck might already be planning on releasing more.
