Tropico 6, the Caribbean city-building game from Kalypso Media, has just released its newest expansion pack. TitledLobbyistico, thenew expansion packwill have players conducting backroom politics to improve Tropico’s economy while balancing out the inevitable political corruption.

TheTropicogames, which made the jump to mobile last year, are a long-running series of strategy-simulation games that put players in the role of El Presidente, the brave, intelligent, and absolutely dashing leader of the Caribbean nation of Tropico. As El Presidente, players will build up the city, provide for the people, and manage their relationships with various factions both internally and globally.

Tropico 6, in particular, has players guide their banana republic through four distinct eras of history, play on archipelago maps, and even steal the wonders of the world such as the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty.

Lobbyistico, which just dropped today, is the third major DLC pack to release for the game, with the other two beingThe Llama of Wall StreetandSpitter, which is themed around interacting with faction leaders and celebrities on social media. Backroom politics are the big new feature in this DLC expansion, as players will be able to invite faction leaders as lobbyists into the El Presidente Club and use them to improve Tropico’s economy or improve their standing with the factions.

Always handy when election season rolls around. Of course, such deals will also result in corruption, which will have negative effects on the nation of Tropico. Luckily, the new Corruption Agency building can help fight against that corruption or just cover it all up. It’s also worth noting that the base game is free on Steam this weekend. For those looking for something to tide them over untilHumankindreleases next year,Tropico 6might be worth a try.
