The wait forTorchlight 3will be ending soon. Today, Perfect World Entertainment and developer Echtra Games announced thatTorchlight 3’s Steam Early Accesswill wrap up on October 13, when the full game officially launches on PC as well as PS4 and Xbox One, priced at $39.99.
With only two weeks left before the dungeon-crawling action-RPG launches, Echtra took the opportunity to look back on the game’s development, from therevamping of the original MMO projectTorchlight Frontiersto Early Access. “With the significant changes we’ve made throughoutTorchlight 3’s journey in Early Access, we have done our best to meaningfully integrate players’ feedback as much as possible into the game as we march toward launch,” said CEO and series co-creator Max Schaefer.

Today’s announcement also took the opportunity to refresh fans on everythingTorchlight 3will bring to the series. New features will include customizable forts, Relic-based subclasses, a multi-tiered “Contracts” progression system, and a “challenging end-game experience” called Fazeer Shah’s Dun-Djinn. This is on top ofTorchlight 3’s distinct character classes. In addition, it was confirmed that players who have been playing through Steam Early Access will automatically be granted access to the full version, while all versions of the game will include a platform-exclusive Fairy pet.
Speaking of platforms, it looks like theNintendo Switch version ofTorchlight 3will be launching later than the other ones, as Perfect World merely said today that it will be out “later this year.” At least that means Switch owners should only have to wait a few more weeks than everyone else.
Torchlight 3will launch on October 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch release to follow later this year.
