What The Paper Trailer Reveals About The Office Spinoff
The trailer for the spinoff swiftly establishes the premise. The crew that followed Dunder Mifflin is back to chronicle a different kind of office setting. Though the Midwestern newspaper in question once had a proud legacy, it is struggling. Gleeson’s character has lofty goals about restoring the institution to something that resembles its former glory, but he has his work cut out for him.
The team that he works for may not be well-suited for the job. Asked whether they have experience, some employees share that they have written tweets in the past, but don’t show a ton of enthusiasm. Impacciatore’s character does have a lot of excitement, for her part, but that also seems to put her at odds with Gleeson’s protagonist, who appears more subdued.
Daniels and Koman are among the executive producers, as areThe Officecreators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, in addition to Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas.
With a main cast that includes Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key,The Paperhails from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and a team of comedy vets. Daniels served as showrunner onthe American version ofThe Office, and Koman worked on the cult favoriteNathan For You.
