WithScreenRant’sRachel Foertsch on site atSan Diego Comic-Con, we know that one bigGhostsmystery is going to be solved in the show. While the series hints at the pasts of the ghosts that live in the manor, there are some lingering mysteries about their lives and their deaths.

In particular, the death of Sasappis (Román Zaragoza) is one mystery that has been teased for the audience, but never revealed. Audience members want to know how Sass died, and they took the opportunity to ask about the character’s death at SDCC.

When showrunner Joe Wiseman was asked whether we would get to see how Sass died in the next two seasons of the show, Wiseman confirmed it was on the way.

Wiseman told the audience:

Yes, we’re crafting that story. Oh, something we talk about a lot, and we’re not going– that’s the last big mystery. We know everyone’s power. Everyone died. So yes, that’s the last big one. Can’t wait.

What Wiseman’s Comment Means For Ghosts

Ghosts Is Unraveling All Of Its Mysteries

The truth behind the death of Sasappis is one of a handful of mysteries left in the show after four seasons in.Wiseman calling it the “last big mystery” of the show demonstrates that he knows how invested the audience isin Sasappis and is conscious of the need to pay off that lingering mystery.

The writers have taken their time in exploring the history, the deaths, and the powers of each of the ghosts as the show has moved into its fifth season. It has introduced a few new ghosts here and there, but the bulk of its time is spent on the ghosts who live in the manor with Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar).

Sasappis has already been explored thoroughly in terms of his love interests and his ghostly power. The show has begun to tease his history, but it has stopped just short of his death. WhenGhostsfinally explores Sasappis’s death, the series will have fully fleshed out the ghost.

Ghostsseason 5 will premiere on CBS on June 06, 2025.

Before it gets there, it is also exploring the show’s other lingering mysteries. Wiseman also promised there would be more with"the others" mentioned by Patience inGhostsin the coming seasons, and the show still has to reveal more of its lore surrounding other supernatural entities, like the demons hinted at in season 4.

Our Take On Wiseman’s Comment

We Will Still Have To Wait For This Ghosts Mystery

Fans will likely still be in for a long wait when it comes to finding outthe truth behind Sass’s death inGhosts. Not only is the ghost one of the most popular characters, but the show has been able to keep the audience intrigued by holding out on that mystery.

Ghostshas already been renewed for seasons 5 and 6 of the show, soeven though Wiseman says the writers are “crafting that story,” it might not be for the immediate season. It’s likely that, with it being the “last big mystery” ofGhosts, Wiseman is going to be more likely to use that storyline closer to the end of season 6.

Besides, the more pressing matter heading intoGhostsseason 5 is the cliffhanger ending of season 4. Jay’s very soul being in danger after being traded for a successful restaurant is going to be the plot point the show has to deal with the most in season 5.

While we are all curious whichfan theory surrounding Sasappis’s deathis going to prove correct, we will have to wait a little longer forGhoststo give us the details.
