National Today recently held a survey to find some interesting statistics ahead ofPokemonDay, including the most popular Pokemon, the countries wherePokemonis most popular, and the most popular Pokemon by state. In a survey of 52,000 people, Charizard led in votes followed by Gengar, Arcanine, Bulbasaur, and Blaziken; outside of these stats, it’s not clear how the survey was exactly conducted.
In terms of country popularity, Pokemon is most popular in Japan which comes across as no surprise. It’s followed by the United States, Europe and Australia, China, and then Brazil. Again, this data is not really surprising, but it’s an interesting breakdown to see. The most popular by state survey, though, is perhaps the wildest.Every Pokemon is the favoriteof someone out there, the odds are just in favor of that statement, but apparently, about 15 Pokemon dominate the nation’s preference. Pikachu and Greninja are the most voted of them all.
The Pokemon of each state can be seen as color-coded above, but aside from Pickachu and Greninja, the other Pokemon who won a state include Dedenne, Arcanine, Lucario, Flygon, Gardevoir, Lucario, Charizard, Gengar, Eevee,Sylveon, Mimikyu, Oshawott, and Bulbasaur.
February 27 isPokemonDay.
