Supergirl Goes Goth! And It’s One of Her Best Looks Yet
Comic Page Comes From Sophie Campbell’sSupergirl#4 (2025)
After Supergirl and Luminarywrap up a day of heroics, Lena invites them to a masquerade at Midvale’s local goth club to celebrate Lesla’s first day as a hero. The two agree, surprised the small town even has a goth scene, and naturally, the trio knows they can’t show up in their usual attire.
Fully embracing the goth aesthetic, Lena, Kara, and Lesla transform into killer outfits that any goth baddie would envy. Each look is beyond badass, but Supergirl steals the show with a style that’s a drastic departure from her typically minimal makeup and unassumingcivilian persona as Kara Danvers.
Supergirl now rocks an all-black ensemble with ripped fishnets, combat boots, a miniskirt, multiple chained belts, a leather bralette, a necklace, and a choker. She completes the look with spiked bracelets, a bat-shaped hair clip, and black stud earrings, making her nearly unrecognizable and delivering one of her boldest, best civilian styles yet.
Campbell’s Supergirl Proves Comic Characters Deserve More Stylish Civilian Looks
Fans will undoubtedly embrace Kara’s new look, knowing it’s only temporary and won’t replaceher iconic Supergirl costume. While ultimately inconsequential in the long run, it still adds another standout entry to her wardrobe history and proves just how effortlessly Kara can pull off black.
This makeover also highlights how many untapped civilian-style aesthetics exist, hopefully inspiring creators to explore beyond the usual “everyday man and woman” attire. It would be refreshing to see more characters get bold and expressive with their casual looks, much likeSupergirldoes in this issue.
