Who Are the Street Sharks?

While old-school fans know full well who the Street Sharks are, Williams said that this new series is also for new fans, so perhaps some background is in order. The Street Sharks were originally human brothers whose father’s evil scientific colleague, Dr. Luther Paradigm, mutated them into anthropomorphic sharks.

From that moment forward, the Street Sharks vowed to take Paradigm down, though that task is easier said than done. Paradigm also created many other human/mutant hybrids to assist him in his villainous schemes, meaning the Street Sharks had to fight other deadly mutants on a fairly regular basis.

TMNT reclaims its most blatant imitation.

Since the newStreet Sharkscomic will act as a continuation/sequel to the original series, it stands to reason that their conflict with the evil Dr. Paradigm will continue. It also leaves the door open to the idea that Dr. Paradigm has created more mutant villains for the Street Sharks to fight, which is an incredibly exciting concept.

Could Fans Finally Get a Street Sharks/TMNT Crossover?

One of the most exciting things about this newStreet Sharkscomic series is the publisher. IDW Publishing is behind this comic book sequel series, which is the same publisher behindTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. With both franchises under one proverbial roof, could fans finally get aStreet Sharks/TMNTcrossover?

Street Sharkshas been regarded asTMNT’s spiritual sequel since its release in the ’90s, so a crossover would be every ’90s kid’s dream come true. However, even without a potential crossover, there’s still plenty for new and oldStreet Sharksfans to be excited about.
