I’m Surprised By The Subtle Order 66 Connections
The Minifigures and Box Art Aren’t Coincidences
What I find most interesting from this new wave of LEGO sets is the rival Republic and Separatist troop transports, specifically their respective ties toOrder 66, the dark purge that saw the end of the Jedi Order inRevenge of the Sith. The Republic Juggernaut comes with KI-Adi-Mundi along with Commander Bacara and some Galactic Marines. There were the same clones who killed Mundi on Mygeeto (the planet the box art seemingly depicts).
Similarly,Ayala Secura was killed on the planet Felucia by her own Clone Commander Bly.Rather than being overt with the models' Order 66 connections (which would be odd given the dark context), I appreciate LEGO’s intentional design and more subtle tribute to one ofRevenge of the Sith’smost tragic and important scenes.
