Game streaming is becoming a bigger and bigger subset of gaming, from Xbox Game Pass on Android to PlayStation Now toGoogle Stadia. Google’s game streaming platform has had a rocky two years since it launched in 2019, but the company is still moving forward.Google Stadia is soon adding four popular JRPGs, and will still add more popular titles down the line. As part of its plans, Stadia has finally added a feature users have been asking for since launch.
Google Stadia was touted to be a hassle-free way to experience amazing new games without the constraints of having to use a console or needing a powerful PC. Unfortunately, the company has already pulled the plug on its first-party development studios. Many users are rightfully worried that Google will one day axe the service all together. Part of the fault lies inthe huge misunderstandings of what Stadia needed to be, demonstrated by the very fact that there was not a search bar for almost two years.

Google has announced thatStadiawill finally roll out a search bar to all users by the end of this week. Stadia players will be able to search for games, add-ons, and different bundles. Per Stadia’s announcement, the change comes from users requesting the feature for quite some time. For some users, the UI of the search bar might still be a bit buggy. After a search is populated, users will need to “click out” of the search bar if they clicked on the name of a game instead of just pressing “enter.” Whether this is an unintended process or just a bug, users will have to wait to see if it changes.
Regardless, Stadia teased some other upcoming changes that would be coming to players, too. Players' libraries will have updated UI, and the company shared design mockups of features like an activity feed. At least for the time being, Google is committed to supporting Stadia and its players. There are many highly anticipated games that players will have access to as well, asStadia will getResident Evil Village, for example. Hopefully, Google will continue to support Stadia, and its players, for a long time.
