Even Mary-Jane Watson asks Peter Parker for further clarification about Thor knowing his secret identity while She-Hulk is none the wiser.In neither their conversation nor later in the story does Peter explain why he does not want She-Hulk knowing that he’s Spider-Man. The notion is especially befuddling to any readers familiar with their history.

In Spidey’s defense, he and MJ quickly become distracted by the fact that several supervillains and superheroes start to flood into the restaurant with reservations of their own all at the same time, but the fact remains that Peter doesn’t elaborate on why he doesn’t want Jennfier Walters knowing who he is.

They Have a Long and Storied History

Spider-Man and She-Hulk have shared the page countless times and more often than not, they always seem to be on friendly terms. The two have had numerous team-ups, including where they shared the sameNew-York-based superhero teamto stop NYC’s “Gang War” event, and they even allied with MJ during her Jackpot days.

Jackpot was Mary-Jane Watson’s superhero alter ego, before bonding with the Venom symbiote.

Most notably, She-Hulk served as Spider-Man’s lawyer in a lawsuit between him and J. Jonah Jameson during Dan Slott’sShe-Hulkseries. There’s ample evidence to suggest that if there’s any hero he should trust with his secrets, it’s She-Hulk. Yet, for some reason,Spider-Mandoesn’t, and it’s hard not to say he’s in the wrong here.
