Skater XL, the upcoming latest entry in theskating genre, is being highly anticipated by many skating fans far and wide. Now,Skater XLfinally has a release date.

Thanks to the official Twitter page forSkater XL, gamers and skate genre fans now know that they only have a couple of months before the impending release ofSkater XL. As per a tweet detailing therelease ofSkater XL, it has been made known that the highly-demanded game will be coming July 7 this year.

Further details were also given in an accompanying trailer, but it appears that July 7 will see the release ofSkater XL1.0 on all major consoles, includingNintendo Switch, and PC. This applies to the digital renditions of the game, though the physical version will also be available July 7 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. As such, pre-orders for the physical version are available at some retailers.

The trailer above also shows some of the customization options available in the game, including customization options as they pertain to clothing, skateboards, and skater appearance inSkater XL. Further, the trailer shows off some of the tricks that players can chain together.

Skate genre fans and those excited forSkater XLwill likely be ecstatic to know that the game is coming relatively soon. So far, the game shows a good deal of promise as a return to the skating genre since the absence ofEA’sSkateseries. It takes place in an open urban setting and gives players the freedom to perform any number of tricks off of obstacles everywhere.

WhileSkatehas yet to make a return, and since the Tony Hawk skateboarding games have yet to hit their stride again,Skater XLlooks to fill in the gap left by the two juggernaut franchises. Hopefully, for skateboarding fans,Skater XLcan take what fans loved above previous skateboarding games and polish it for the current generation, which has yet to see any truly significant skateboarding games. There are only a couple of months to find out.
