What’s In Store For Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age
The images above are exciting confirmation thatPrehistoric Planetis no longer on ice (metaphorically), but the creatures shown are far from the only ones that will be depicted. Viewers can expect to get their best look at woolly mammoths yet (until Colossal Biosciences de-extincts them, of course), and learn about snow sloths, and even dwarf elephants. The series will take audiences through tundras, deserts, grasslands, and permafrost, showing how creatures lived across vastly different biomes.
Prehistoric Planet: Ice Agewill also see the return ofPrehistoric Planetcomposer Hans Zimmer, who wrote the theme for the series and has collaborated with Bleeding Fingers Music members Anže Rozman and Kara Talve on the show. Effects will be completed by Framestore, the VFX house that has brought some of the most thrilling moments from projects likeGravityandThe Golden Compassto life. Not returning forPrehistoric Planet: Ice Ageis Sir David Attenborough; Tom Hiddleston will take over narration duties in his place.
Prehistoric Planet: Ice Agewill also explore some of the most consequential time periods in the Ice Age in “The Big Freeze” and “The Big Melt”. Fittingly, the season premieres on Apple TV+ November 26, just in time for winter and snowfall in North America and much of the world. It’s an exciting return for one of the bestApple TV+documentaries in the streamer’s impressive library.
