Slightly lower res shodown

With the news that the Switch port ofSamurai Shodownwould operate at 60 FPS, it was pretty obvious that there would be visual compromises. The Switch isn’t exactly what you’d call powerful and whileSamurai Shodownisn’t as graphically demanding asMortal Kombat 11, it definitely looks sharp as hell on PS4 and Xbox One. SNK has uploaded some footage from the Switch version and, as expected, it doesn’t look as nice.

Still, I don’t think this is bad. It’s certainly softer and the character models lack definition, but the art style still shines through. We don’t have any of the technical specs (like if this will operate at 1080p docked, etc), but Switch owners aren’t losing out on much. I’d rather take performance over visual fidelity.

Sadly, the extra characters from the season pass will not be included for free. While Shizumaru Hisame will be available as a free download –much like he is for the other versions-, you’ll need to pony up extra to get the rest of season one. I guess that is to be expected, though it’d be nice to have a similar offer with the season pass beingfree for a week.
