I have never seen a copy of the originalRhapsody: A Musical Adventurein my life, and I probably never will. Believe it or not, I have a thing for musicals. Not so much theFiddler on the Roofstyle fluff, but the good stuff likeLittle Shop of Horrors,The Rocky Horror ShowandReturn to the Forbidden Planet. Naturally, I find the concept of the musical videogame fascinating, and this is why the news ofRhapsodyhitting the DS was so pleasing for me.

The only other musical videogame I can recall (discounting rhythm action games, of course) isThe Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie’s Revenge, which had terrible gameplay, but fantastic musical boss battles, including some amazing reworkings of classicNightmaresongs.

Hell is Us gameplay reveal

Rhapsodylooks utterly silly, but I am looking forward to it nonetheless. Hopefully this old RPG stands the test of time when it reemerges on Nintendo’s handheld.
