Barely anything has been shown aboutResident Evil Requiemso far, other than newcomer Grace Ashcroft, daughter ofResident Evil Outbreak’s Alyssa Ashcroft, taking the lead role, and the game havingdual camera perspectives. With so much mystery surrounding the game and Capcom’s close-to-the-chest marketing strategy thus far, fans and leakers have been putting the small clues together, and some of the game’s greatest secrets may have been solved.
In a post by known leakerAestheticGamer aka Dusk Golemon X, the user stated that the stalker monster following Grace in the brief gameplay sections that have been shownis none other than Alyssa herself, mutilated and transformed after her apparent death, which was also shown at the end of the Gamescom trailer. This information should be taken with a grain of salt, as all leaks and rumors should.

Alyssa Returns After 20 Years
TheGamescomRequiemtrailerabruptly ends by cutting to the game’s logo after Alyssa is grabbed, leaving her exact fate uncertain. In the game’s first trailer, we got the setup of the story, which is Grace returning to her mother’s death scene at the Wrenwood Hotel. Grace believes her mother to be dead, but the gigantic stalker enemy is definitely female, judging by its moans and sounds, and itseems to be deeply connected to Grace.
If this is actually Alyssa, it remains to be seenhow or why she didn’t diein the hotel but was instead transformed into a hideous monster. Dusk Golem also assures fans that this revelation is quite early in the game and that Grace figures it out soon after meeting the monster, which is presumably near the start of the game. Capcom has dropped major plot points in earlyREtrailers in the past, so it wouldn’t be too surprising if this leak is true.

It’s been long-rumored that fan-favoriteLeon Kennedy will play a major roleinRequiemand will also serve as a second playable character. We still have yet to see him in any promotional material for the game, but some fans, likeSultanon X, thinkthere is a clue in the latest gameplay trailer. Alyssa’s pistol appears to be either the VP70/Matilda that Leon used inResident Evil 2, or the compact pistol that Ada uses inResident Evil 2remake.
Of course, that could just be a coincidence, and Alyssa and Grace are at a hotel in the latest trailer, so Alyssa would need a firearm that could be easily concealed. At worst, it’s a nice Easter egg for fans ofResident Evil’s extensive weaponry history.Resident Evil Requiemis one of the most mysterious games Capcom has made, and with so many rumors, it’s clear fans are very excited for the game and to see if Alyssa and Leon will play bigger roles.
