Resident Evilhas its fair share of characters that fit into different dynamics in the franchise. Whilesome characters are more loved than othersdue to their caring nature to save the ones they love, a vast majority of the characters, especially the villains of the game, are known to be incredibly ruthless to not only the player but also the other people they work with.

To be ruthless means to show no compassion towards those around them, and many characters that players are fond of from the franchise may already come to mind from that description. These are by far the most ruthless characters of theResident Evilfranchise.
10Ada Wong
Ada is a consistent character throughout the franchise, first seen inResident Evil 2, with her most recent appearance being inResident Evil Re:Verse, she is a spy that has worked for a variety of companies, but the only team Ada is on is her own.
While being a playable character, Ada has been seen asquite antagonisticin certain games, with her stopping Leon in his tracks on several occasions. Ada may not be one of the most ruthless characters in the franchise, but her cold-hearted spy mentality deserves a place.
9Karl Heisenberg
Unlike Ada, Karl is one of the main villains ofResident Evil Village, which concludes the story of Ethan Winters. Unlikehis forced siblings, Karl no longer admires or wishes to work for Mother Miranda.
Karl, upon realizing that Miranda didn’t care for her newly created family, hoped to start a rebellion with Ethan’s help if he would let him weaponize Rose. However, when Ethan disagrees with his plans, Karl is shown to be just as cruel as the others as he subjects the player to his factory of horrors.
8Eveline
Players may be confused about how the main antagonist ofResident Evil 7: Biohazardcould be so low on the list even after the torment she puts both the Baker family and the player through. However, although Eveline is quite ruthless due to only caring about keeping the Baker family under her control while infecting them, this is all the selfish needs of a child.

Although she may be a living and breathing bioweapon, the reality is all Eveline ever wanted was a family. Unfortunately, due to her monstrous upbringing as an experiment, she became obsessed with this idea.
7Lucas
Out of the Baker family, the most ruthless of them all is the brother Lucas. While members of the family such as Jack or Marguerite are under the control of Eveline and are therefore transformed by the mold caused by her, Lucas appears to have been mentally unstable in some way before her appearance, which makes his actions even more terrifying.
Similar to Karl, Lucas has the player completing his games for his own enjoyment. The player learns about Lucas' childhood in which theydiscover his ruthless naturefrom an early age, where he traps one of his bullies in the attic, leaving him to starve and dehydrate.
6T-00 “Mr X”
DuringResident Evil 2,players would have encountered the terrifying Tyrant called T-00, commonly known as MR X by theResident Evilfan base. Although not much is known about him, players are aware that he has been tasked with one mission and that’s to collect a G-Virus sample and kill anyone that gets in his way.
Although humanoid, there is nothing human left to Mr X, which explains his lack of morals as well as the capability he has to hunt down either Leon or Claire none stop when he spots them.
5Nemesis
Resident Evil 3continues this theme of ginormous titan-like monsters that chase after the player when a Nemesis-T type isdropped in Raccoon City. Nicknamed the Pursuer, many players can guess what the role of Nemesis was as it continued to pursue them around the game.

Similar to Mr X, Nemesis was a ruthless killer that tracked down its targets and wouldn’t leave them be until he was satisfied with how dead they were. Not to mention his horrific design that is sure to stop some players in their tracks in fear.
4Alex Wesker
As a high-ranking Umbrella Pharmaceuticals employee as well as being a member of the Wesker Project. Alex Wesker is a woman with a large amount of power at her fingertips as well as coursing inside of her from being in touch directly with the virus.
Known as the Overseer inResident Evil Revelations 2, she has control over an entire island where she has been performing her own sick experiments, her morals completely dashed of any worth. Her selfishness is continued to be seen as he talks during her final transformation about how she doesn’t only want to live but also transcend into something god-like.
3Oswell E. Spencer
While mostly mentioned throughout the franchise as one ofthe original founders of Umbrella, players finally got to meet this billionaire mastermind inResident Evil 5. ThroughoutResident Evil,Oswell has been described as cold and merciless, as it has been seen that he has ordered the demise of many of his rivals to grow his power.

As an elitist, he had hopes and dreams that his bioweapons would one day allow him to sculpt the world to his vision and therefore make himself the single ruler of mankind.
2Mother Miranda
Although her goal was to bring back her dead daughter, who passed away from the Spanish Flu, Mother Miranda is still seen as a heartless woman inResident Evil Village. Her own created family from the virus was all just an experiment to one day bring back her original daughter.
While going as far as to split a baby into a variety of pieces to bring back her own daughter. There is no way to excuse the actions done by Miranda as she also destroyed the entire village that she conducted her experiments on.
1Albert Wesker
Albert Wesker has been shown to be not only one of the most charismatic characters from theResident Evilseries but also the most ruthless due to his role in the experiments at Umbrella.
Eventually, he chose to betray Umbrella and work for other organizations showing his lack of loyalty to where his experiments first began while he investigated how he could transcendusing the experimental viruses. He proceeded to haunt the player throughout different games in the long-lasting franchise while pursuing this goal.
