The originalResident Evil 2had a lot of extra content beyond the main game, including additional modes, unlockable guns, and alternate costumes. The upcoming remake of this horror classic will be no exception, and one of its new costumes was recently teased on Twitter.

Anyone who purchases the Deluxe or Collector’s Editions of theResident Evil 2remake will receive the military costume for Claire Redfield. She will be sporting army green pants and a sleeveless military-style vest with a bandanna. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, as Claire has never been in the military, but alternate costumes rarely adhere to reason - that’s what makes them so fun.

The costume was announced through the official Resident Evil Twitter, along with a short video clip of Claire in action, donning the new duds. She doesn’t do much. She merely takes a few steps, then stands in place while something squeaks loudly in the background.

For more rivetingResident Evil 2remake gameplay, be sure to check out the video highlightingthe infamous Lickerenemy. The introduction to this grotesque beast in the original version of the game is remembered fondly by fans. Thankfully, the Licker is back, but it is returning scarier and more lifelike than before.

In the video, Claire continues to navigate the dark hallways of the police station while she tries to avoid not one, buttwoLickers. When she does finally decided to face them, she finds this is no easy task. They aren’t mindless, shambling zombies, after all.

Lickers are intimidating, horrifying creatures, but they aren’t the only enemy Claire and Leon will have to face off against in theResident Evil 2remake. The gamewill also feature a giant alligator, the mutated form of William Birkin named G, and the towering Mr. X tyrant, all of which are sure to scare even the bravest gamers come the game’s January release date.

Resident Evil 2is scheduled to release on August 17, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
