However,Resident Alienseason 4saw him accept his humanity, learning he’s grown a soul too.
Resident Alienseason 4, episode 6ends with Harry making a deal with the Galactic Housing Council:he’ll get his alien energy back to kill the Mantid, and if he fails, the Greys can have him for soul harvesting. While the Council agrees, they make someone else an executor for his powers, a development that puts Harry’s humanity in danger.
He’s Holding Harry’s Powers Hostage Until He Does
The executor of Harry’s alien energy ends up being his alien father, a towering, angry-looking being who Harry seems to instantly recognize. His father will be taking on human form in season 4, episode 7, portrayed by Emmy-nominated actor Stephen Root. He’s also going to be holding Harry’s alien powers hostage because of his own nefarious agenda.
In the teaser trailer forResident Alienseason 4, episode 7, it sounds likeHarry’s father won’t be giving him his alien energy unless he kills someone. The act would be recompense for having failed to destroy Earth in season 1, making up for it by having the blood of anotherResident Aliencharacteron his hands.
Why Harry Being Asked To Kill Is Putting His Humanity On The Line
Will He Risk All His Progress For His Alien Energy?
However, if Harry does end up killing someone for his alien energy,it will set back all the progress he’s made in learning how to be human. He’s become more selfless in large part due to having grown a soul, something that has made him less inclined to harm others. Yet defeating the Mantid may require the sacrifice.
But even though it’s what his father wants,it doesn’t mean Harry is going to do it. Killing someone might make his job defeating the Mantid much easier, but it also means relinquishing who he’s become. Theupcoming episodes ofResident Alienare more likely to showcase him going against his father’s wishes, despite the danger it’ll put him in.
Sinceit’s unlikely Harry is going to kill someoneto placate his father,Resident Alienwill probably see him come up with a creative solution to get his powers back. Whether this comes in the form of having to fight his dad, or perhaps relating to him on a deeper level, remains to be seen.
