After weathering an underwhelming launch window and server issues,Rainbow Six Siegehas defied the odds by continually gaining new momentum and a larger player base almost two years after release. Thanks to continued developer supportthrough hot fixes, updates, and new content, the game’s community is thriving. Ubisoft is looking to continue that momentum as the company has begun teasing the next content drop, now known as Operation White Noise.
As the final Year 2 pack forRainbow Six Siege, Operation White Noise brings players to Seoul, South Korea. The update brings along two members of the 707th Special Mission Battalion (707th SMB) as well as the final attacking member of the Polish GROM unit, since that update was scrapped in favor of Operation Health earlier this summer. While names and abilities are still under wraps for now, Ubisoft has teased that the attacking unit is stubborn and daring, while the defender tends to play more methodical and tenacious.
A new map set high up above the city skyline in an observation tower is also coming alongsidethe three new operatorsas well as brand new weapons for players to check out. For now, Ubisoft isn’t saying much more as the company is planning to fully reveal the expansion and new gameplay during the Pro League finals in two weeks on November 18th and 19th.
In addition to Operation White Noise, Ubisoft also went on to confirm that it plans to continue supporting the title through 2018. This also means that a Year 3 of content is being developed, so players should expect to see more operators, maps, and updates coming to the game next year. If support like this continues, perhaps Ubisoft will actually beable to add 50-100 operatorsas predicted earlier this year.
Rainbow Six Siegeis available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
