Death, taxes, and Clash causing problems inRainbow Six Siege. Even as Ubisoft’s competitive tactical shooter approaches its 10th birthday, the developers are still trying to get Clash’s abilities to vibe with the rest of its extensive Operator roster.

According toUbisoft’s Year 10 roadmap forR6 Siege(viaGameSpot),Clash is undergoing an “Operator remaster” which will allow her shield to be deployed in a stationary position and its taser triggered remotely. Clash will move faster while not holding her shield, and it can be picked up to be moved at will. The shield is still usable in Clash’s hands or on her back; the change hopes to make her a more versatile Operator. Clash has notably been a nuisance forSiegetechnically, with her being temporarily removed from play multiple times a few years ago due to severe exploits with her shield.

Ubisoft Reveals Year 10 Roadmap For R6 Siege & Siege X

A New Era

The changes to Clash come as part of Year 10 Season 2, Operation Daybreak, which has other sweeping changes. Affecting Clash as well is a rework to how electricity functions as a damage type.Electricity will no longer damage Operators; it will merely slow you down, and destroy all gadgets. Clash is also impacted by a change to shield-wielding Operators, who will no longer be able to ADS while vaulting or falling. Limb damage will also be decreased across the board, making it more important to aim for center mass or for headshots.

Year 10 Season 2 will make changes to other Operators as well, including Blackbear, Jackal, Jäger, Thunderbird, and Sledge. Clickhereto see the details from Ubisoft.

Clash Has Been A Problem In Siege For Years

Fond Memories Of Clash Breaking The Game

These new changes to Clash aren’t stemming from any particular issue – they seem to be an attempt at balancing Clash and making her more viable overall. It is, however, notable thatClash has been in the game since 2018 and Ubisoft are still trying to figure her out. Clash initially marked a big change for the game as the first defending Operator able to use a shield, and her ability to stun and damage enemies who wander too close was fairly powerful upon her release.

Rainbow Six Siegebecame a bit of a messwhen a glitch allowed Clash players to use their pistol while holding her shield (which usually requires both her hands to operate). Players were effectively invulnerable behind her shield while still being able to shoot, so Clash was removed from the game for a significant amount of time across two seasons. When she was finally re-enabled, more bugs were found, and she was disabled for another season a year later.Rainbow Six Siegeis beyond that now, and is looking forward with the release ofSiege X, but it’s still entertaining to see Clash once again taking up real estate in the roadmap.
