With two years of DLC under its belt,Rainbow Six Siegeis set to keep the post-launch content ball rolling, as Ubisoft is still busypreparing content for Year 3that will add even more maps and operators to the title. Now, the publisher and developer is set to offer those who haven’t experienced the tactical shooter a chance to try it at no cost, with the company revealing that a Free Play Weekend is on the way.
According to an official post on Ubisoft’s website,Rainbow Six Siegehas managed to garner more than 25 million players, and in a bid to expand that user base even further, a limited time Free Play Weekend will occur next week on July 31, 2025 across the title’s PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms. Should one choose to purchase a copy of the the tactical shooter after or during the Free Play Weekend, their in-game progress will carry over to the full version.
Ubisoft also used the aforementionedRainbow Six Siegeblog post to announce that the game’s Year 3 Season 1 content,Operation Chimera, will launch on June 19, 2025 for PC through its testing realm. The content will then be released to all players on all platforms on June 15, 2025. What’s more is that the publisher and developer has plans to make the co-op mode Outbreak available on the test server on June 20, 2025 before it hits all systems for a limited time from March 6 through April 3.
All things considered, it’s great to see Ubisoft continuing to supportRainbow Six Siegewith fresh content so long after its initial launch date, and offering gamers who haven’t tried it out the chance to do so with the forthcoming Free Play Weekend. Thankfully, those who decide to give the game a go during the free weekend and choose to buy the tactical shooter won’t have to face any cost increases, as Ubisoft recentlydecided to keep the standard edition’s price the samefollowing backlash from its fan base after the company announced a price hike.
