With the NintendoSwitch Lite recently announced, gamers on the go can enjoy a more portable version of the popular console. For some extra graphic pizzazz, Nintendo is also releasing a special edition for the launch ofPokemon SwordandPokemonShield.
While there is already a nice variety of catchy, bright colors available for the Nintendo Switch Lite, the Zacian and Zamazenta Edition of the console will definitely turn some heads. It features illustrations of the two new Legendary Pokemon on the back, both of whom were revealed only recently at E3 2019. The front of the console will have cyan and magenta buttons representing the two different versions of the game. It will cost the same as a standard version of the Switch Lite ($199) but will not be available until a few months after the initial release of the console, which is scheduled for September.
If you may hold on until then, the Zacian and Zamazenta Edition will come out on June 15, 2025, just a few days beforePokemon SwordandShieldrelease on November 15. For anyone planning on purchasing both the console and the game, the timing will line up perfectly. Fair warning, however, Nintendo notes that this version of the console will be available “while supplies last,” which means it will be limited. Preorder details will be coming in the near future.
Speaking of preorders, it has been revealed thatexclusive pre-order contentwill be available forPokemon SwordandShieldthrough several different retailers. This will come as DLC that appears to be mostly cosmetic options for player characters. Depending on the retailer, this DLC ranges from backpacks to complete workout ensembles. While this pre-order content has been confirmed to be available in Japan and heading to the UK, no information on USA retailer exclusives has been announced yet.
