There’s no surefire way to obtain ashiny version of SnivyinPokemon GO–it mostly relies on sheer luck, similar to other shiny pocket monsters out there. The only way to get your hands on one is to keep encountering them in the wild and crossing your fingers for a shiny variant. You won’t be able to tell if a Pokemon is shiny until you enter the encounter, so if you see a Snivy walking around on your map and its color is normal, ensure to still tap on it because you will never know what it’ll be.

Luckily, theUnova Celebration eventis happening right now inPokemon GOuntil Jan. 10, and Snivy, along with some other Pokemon, will have higher spawn rates, making it slightly easier to get a Shiny Snivy. You can also get lucky and find a Shiny Snivy throughegg hatchingor from raids.
Shiny Capture Rates
Most Pokemon’s base shiny rate in Pokemon GO is typically 1/512, but not every single Pokemon has an available shiny version. For example, while Snivy has a shiny form right now, other Gen 5 starters such as Tepig and Oshawatt have yet to have a shiny version inPokemon GO.
