Pokemon GO’slatest Special Research quest - appropriately dubbed Let’s Go, Meltan! - sees the return of the dreaded Catch a Ditto task. This was last featured during the Mew Special Research quest and was a major road block for some players. After all, there is ashort list of Pokemonwhose form Ditto can take.
With Ditto’s return, trainers are no doubt frantic about completing this task as well as the entire Special Research quest, since spawn rates are currently increased. However, the quest ends soon, so those still stuck on thisPokemon GOtask need to catch Ditto as soon as possible.
Luckily, there is an easy method that snuck in under the noses of several players. The on-goingLet’s Goevent saw a number of new but temporary Field Research quests added to the game, one of which is to make an excellent throw. Its reward is a Pidgey encounter that actually turns out to be a Ditto.
Players should simply track down this quest by visiting a few PokeStops,make the excellent throw, and catch the Pokemon that appears. Of course, this may take some time and dedication, but players are much more likely to find a Ditto this way than hoping to find a transformed, wild one.
Once this is done, players will encounter even more quests throughout theLet’s Go, Meltan Special Research. This Special Research will be a lot easier if done prior to November 27 because there is a number of quests reliant upon a particular Pokemon currently seeing increased spawns. Hopefully, this method will give players the step up they need to complete this research and unlock the new legendary.
