Pokemon GOsaw one of its biggest Gen 4 updates recently, adding not only new Pokemon and evolutions, but brand new Lure Modules as well.Pokemon GOplayers can use these Lure Modules to get some of the game’s most anticipated Pokemon, including the Eeveelutions Glaceon and Leafeon. However, there is another way to get Glaceon and Leafeon inPokemon GO.
Past Eeveelutions inPokemon GOhave let players use a “name trick” to be guaranteed a certain Eeveelution, with the names coming from thePokemonanime. For example, if players want their Eevee to evolve to Flareon, they can nickname it “Pyro.” Alternatively, if they want their Eevee to evolve to Vaporeon, they can nickname it “Rainer,” and so on and so forth. Despite players being able to guarantee themselves a Glaceon or Leafeon using Lure Modules, they can also use the name trick to get them as well.
Please note that the name trick will only work the first timePokemon GOplayers use it. We also recommend that players close out of the app after naming their Eevee to make sure the name change has registered before spending the candy to evolve it.
Glaceon
To use the name trick to get Glaceon inPokemon GO, players need to name their Eevee “Rea.”
Leafeon
To use the name trick to get Leafeon inPokemon GO, players need to name their Eevee “Linnea.”
Being able to use the name trick to control Eevee’s evolution inPokemon GOis helpful, as it means players won’t have to spend coins on thenew Lure Modules. At the time of this writing, the new Lure Modules cost 200 coins apiece, so that means players would have to spend at least 400 coins to get Glaceon and Leafeon using the Lure Module method.
Those who would rather use the Lure Module method to evolve their Eevees can do so by using a Glacial Lure Module for Glaceon and a Mossy Lure Module for Leafeon.
Pokemon GOis out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
