Pokemon GOplayers in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions experienced server errors yesterday that cut off all but the last hour of Go Battle Day bonuses and features. That wasn’t the only problem either. The server issues meant that players who could get into matches experienced bugs that impacted performance, encounter rewards, and the Stardust bonus which made it impossible toclimb the Go Battle leaderboard. Vocal complaints from around the world brought the attention to Niantic Support and the team promised that a make-up event is on the way.
All things considered, it’s pretty impressive that this is the first play-from-home event thatPokemon GOhit a major speed bump with. Most of the late March and early April events have gone incredibly well and done a good job keeping players engaged in the mobile AR game. Hopefully this is an isolated incident and other upcoming events don’t run into similar problems.
