PokemonGO’sValentine’s Day 2019event is now underway, with the festivities running through February 21. Many players may also notice that this event is similar to last year’s, but one major difference is the addition of Field Research focusing on the Pokemon spawning during this event.

As part of the event, the spawns of pink Pokemon have increased, meaningPokemon GOplayers can find more Clefairy, Hoppip, Lunatone (its eye is pink), Slowpoke, Lickitung, Exeggcute, Snubbull, Whismur, Skitty, Jigglypuff, and Luvdisc. The last Pokemon is also heavily featured in the event research tasks for the next week, so players will want to keep an eye out for Luvdisc especially.

It’s worth mentioning that there are only 3 tasks added as part of thisPokemon GOevent, but the rewards from each task make the pursuits worthwhile. One of which includes the addition of anew Heart Spinda formas seen below. ThePokemon GOValentine’s Day 2019 Field Research Tasks are as follows:

Research Task (Reward)

If nothing else, the Heart Spinda alone is enough to getPokemon GOcompletionists involved with this event, as there is no telling when the special form will return again. It also seems likely that some players will be striving to add a Chansey to their collection or stock up on candy for the Pokemon. In addition to these new Field Research tasks,Pokemon GOplayers still have theFebruary Field Research tasksto complete, giving busy players more to do now.

Considering Swinub Community Day is right around the corner, it’s clear thatPokemon GOplayers have a lot on their plate. These constant events and change-ups, however, do much for the game’s quality of life, with this likely being one of the reasons the game is as popular as it is. This will hopefully remain consistent, asPokemon Go’s momentum carries on through 2019.
