Recently, a leak revealed thatPalkia and Dialga were going to be made availablefor gamers who ownedPokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun,orUltra Moonvia GameStop distribution. It has since been confirmed as part of the Pokémon Company’s Year of Legendary Pokémon event.

After the legendaryPalkia and Dialga are introduced into the aforementionedPokemongames in February, Regigigas and Heatran will be made available in March; then, Entei and Raikou will be distributed in April, followed by Xerneas and Yveltal in May. What is noteworthy about this line-up is that there is no Legendary Pokémon listed for December, leading many fans to believe it could be a brand-new release ashinted by a recent Nintendo Switch Survey. Moreover, the event also promises new TCG items “and MORE,” perhaps also hinting at the release of a new game. Check out the official announcement here:

While these subtle hints seem to suggest a new generation of Pokémon releasing in 2018, there is nothing known at this time. The recent speculation and trademark that seemed to suggest the newest titles were going to bePokémon 1 andPokémon0has been proven to be a fake; if anything, however, this stunt just proves how badly the fanbase desires a new Pokémon game.

Since 2018 will be the Year of Legendary Pokémon, it will also hopefully introduce new legendaries, but if it does not (or the wait seems unbearable), there is plenty of Pokémon-related games out there.Pokkén Tournament DXrecently released, and Niantic recently made the legendary Kyogre available for raids inPokémon GO.Mark your calendars, trainers, because 2018 may be a fantastic year for the franchise.

Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moonare available now exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
