A new Pokémon game means new creatures and evolutions, andPokémon Legends: Z-Amight have just gotten a pretty big leak for one of its new additions, but many fans are debating not only its quality but also whether it’s real at all. It was previously leaked that severalfan-favorite Pokémon would potentially be getting Mega EvolutionsinZ-A, and with thePokemon Trading Card Gamealso getting several new Mega Evolutions this year, it seems like new evolutions are a huge focus for all Pokémon media this year.

An X post byCentro LEAKSshares a potentially leaked image ofDragalge’s Mega Evolution, captioned as “Mega Dragalge.” Dragalge is a dual-type Poison/Dragon Pokémon that was introduced in Generation 6 as the evolved form of Skrelp. Some fans seem to be impressed, withKumoiireplying to the post, writing:“actually a pretty dope design.“The purported Mega Evolution features purple wings and pink accents, but some elements of the image are leading fans to debate the image’s legitimacy.

Fans Are Debating An Alleged Leak Of Dragalge That Appeared Online

The Design And Its Authenticity Are Being Questioned

The supposed Mega Evolution of Dragalge is gettinga mixed response from fans. Some fans, likeSoUHauntMe, think the image is fake, writing that it looks “AI generated"and noting some inconsistencies with the wing and body shapes. Others, likeJJ, appreciate the design, saying:“It’s beautiful. Immediately going on my team.“Either Way,A Mega Evolution for Dragalge has not been officially confirmed.

The image was posted with no spoiler warning, sosome X users are upset at the potential reveal. Others are criticizing the poster for dropping potentially misleading information. An image of the Mega Evolution of Fegaligatr was previously thought to be leaked for the game, but it was later proven to be fan concept art, drawn byCardnlH, rather than a legitimate leak. WithMega Evolutions returning in full force, a lot of fans are desperately wanting to see their favorites get new forms.

Our Take: It’s A Cool Design, But The Leak Feels Dubious

It’s Neat, But Leaks Have Been Wrong In The Past

Every leak and rumor, regardless of franchise, should be given its due skepticism. Personally, I find the design compelling. It looks mostly like Dragalge always has, buthas just enough differences to make it visually interesting, especially with the purple wings. With Pokémon being one of the most popular franchises in the world, fake leaks pop up all the time, so while this could be real, fans should temper their expectations.

We still don’t have a ton of information or gameplay footage forPokémon Legends: Z-A, butthe game is releasing in Octoberon a full cartridge release rather than a Game-Key Card, which is already making the game more appealing to some Nintendo Switch 2 owners. This purported design is cool, but hopefully, more concrete information about the official Mega Evolutions forPokémon Legends: Z-Awill trickle out over the coming months.
