There are a lot of MMORPGs on the market these days and each new series that pops up strives to make the experience more immersive for players. The next logical step is taking the genre into virtual reality with the VRMMORPG, and the upcoming title by Ramen VR,Zenith,hopes to be a pioneer in that field. Today it was announced that this ambitious project will be coming to PlayStation VR.
By all accounts, MMOs and VR should be a perfect pairing, but it’s a combo that is still in its infancy.Zenithis bringing together not onlyMMORPGsand VR, but anime as well to build a satisfying, engaging experience. From what has been shown of the title, it looks like a vibrant open-world that players will want to explore close up. The PlayStation Blog posted an in-depth preview of the game’s development, including photos, videos, and explanations of things like exploration, socialization, and combat.

Being an open world, players can explore every nook and cranny with the ability to climb anything, limited by stamina, and via a Gliding system. The MMOGenshin Impactwas compared toBreath of the Wildregularly for the adoption of these popular mechanics.Zenithmay face critics for this choice as well, but it is a small part of what the game has to offer. The game’s first-person combat will be a unique draw, where victory is less stat-based and more tactical. Players will have to attack, block, and dodge in real-time using their own two hands.
The open beta release date was just one part of the Announcement Showcase that took place in early February. The biggest news from the event was the reveal ofFinal Fantasy 14’s next expansion,Endwalker.This will be the MMO’s fourth expansion and its story will conclude the game’s current story arc. It will also come with tons of new content, gameplay changes, and two new jobs.
Zenithis expected to release for PlayStation VR, SteamVR, and Oculus in 2021.
