With so many streaming services on the market, e.g. HBO Max and Netflix, it can be difficult to figure out which ones are worth a membership month by month. One up-and-comer isParamount Plus, which is set to increase its price.

With series such asMayor of Kingstown,Tulsa King, andHalo, there’s no shortage of quality content to binge that otherwise may have never found a home. One major asset inParamount Plus' corner is Taylor Sheridan, one of the best screenwriters in the industry. Considering two moreYellowstonespin-offs are in the works—Bass Reevesand6666—perhaps it’s not surprising that Paramount Plus intends to raise the price of a monthly subscription. PerVariety, the “Essential” plan, which lacks Showtime and has ads, will increase from $4.99 to $5.99. Meanwhile, the “Premium” plan, which is ad-free and includes Showtime content, will raise two dollars from $9.99 to $11.99.

So, will the price hike be worth it? For one, it’s not that much of an increase, but it still comes down to taste in content. The price hike is worth it if someone is a Sheridan, Kevin Costner, andYellowstonefan. This is equally applicable to fans ofStar Trek. WhileStar Trek: Discoveryinitially appeared on CBS All Access, it moved to Paramount Plus for both its fourth season and its upcoming fifth. There’s also the Anon Mount-ledStar Trek: Strange New Worlds, which also looks to continue in 2023, and the sometimesraunchy animatedStar Trek: Lower Decks.

Perhaps the most attention-grabbing series isStar Trek: Picard, which also debuted on CBS All Access before moving to Paramount Plus. That show looks to bring even more beloved pastStar Trekcharacters into the fold, including LeVar Burton’s La Forge, Michael Dorn’s Worf, and Jonathan Frakes' Riker.
