A clip from a recent Twitch stream shows why players should never underestimate the seemingly angelic Mercy inOverwatch 2, as one player manages to wipe an entire enemy team using only Mercy’s pistol in Blizzard’s hero shooter. There have been complaints from fans ever since the originalOverwatchthatMercy is overpowered, and this clip is likely to add fuel to the fire for those who feel she needs a nerf.
Mercy is one of 35 playable characters currently in Blizzard’s free-to-play hero shooterOverwatch 2, returning to the roster after appearing in the first game. Though primarily designed to be played as a support character, the angelic healer’s Caduceus Blaster can become a formidable weapon when combined with Mercy’s Ultimate ability, Valkyrie. Mercy and the rest of theOverwatch 2crew will have a new foe to contend with soon when thenew hero Ramattra, a powerful omnic tank, joins the roster in the upcoming Season 2.

In a new clip posted on Twitch, streamer Somjuu is seen putting Mercy’s Caduceus Blaster to deadly use as they manage to wipe an entire enemy team in a matter of seconds. Letting loose a non-stop stream of bullets from Mercy’s rapid-fire pistol, Somjuu leaps from enemy to enemy unleashing destruction while viewers in the chat cheer him on. SomeOverwatch 2fans have called for Blizzard tonerf Mercy’s pistolafter a recent video showed the Caduceus Blaster to have a massive hitbox when compared to other weapons in the game.
This thrilling clip is a great example of how a talented player can turn even a character that is ostensibly a healer into a force of destruction with the right tactical choices. Somjuu’s viewers were definitely amused by the impressive display of force, with several chatters echoing Somjuu’s cries of “YUM!” each time he eliminated another enemy. While Mercy is generally regarded as one of the easier characters to play for gamers new toOverwatch 2, this clip shows that she can be an equally effective choice for high-level players.
As players wait for the upcoming Season 2 and the eventual arrival of theOverwatch 2PvE mode, currently scheduled for release sometime in 2023, this Mercy clip is a great reminder of just how thrilling and frantic the hero shooter can be. And while every player may not be able to pull off thrilling feats of stylish slaughter quite as proficiently as Somjuu does in this clip, this dance of destruction shows that gamers should never write off any ofOverwatch 2’s heroes, no matter how angelic they may appear.
Overwatch 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
