Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #6Star Warsjust made one of its movie titles even more confusing. In the newest issue ofLegacy of Vaderby Charles Soule and Luke Ross, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren has seemingly discovered a newOrder 66survivor beforeThe Rise of Skywalker. While the imminent conflict is exciting, it does mean thatThe Last Jedi’stitle makes even less sense given the establishedStar Warscontinuity.

InLegacy of Vader, Kylo Ren is the First Order’s new Supreme Leader of the First Order. Determined to kill his past,Ren encounters Darth Vader’s old servant Vaneé, who’s been trying to impress the importance of the past and how it fueled Vader’s power. Now,Legacy of Vader #6reveals the next stage of Kylo Ren’s quest between episodes, featuring an apparent Order 66 survivor.

Luke and Yoda train on Dagobah in the foreground, while Ezra and Ahsoka wield their lightsabers in the background.

Kylo Ren Found An Order 66 Survivor After The Last Jedi

Jedi Master Grandea

Darth Vader and his Imperial Inquisitors wiped out the vast majority ofJedi survivors following Order 66. However, there were still those who managed to escape the Dark Lord’s wrath. This includes the big names like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, but also Jedi survivors including Kanan Jarrus, Ahsoka Tano, Cal Kestis, Quinlan Vos, and more.

There was also Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren who were trained as Jedi during the reign of the Empire and beyond, much like Luke Skywalker himself. That said, Luke was still identified by Yoda as “The Last Jedi” during the original trilogy, inspiring the title ofEpisode VIII(even though Jedi like Ahsoka and Ezra were still alive).

Now,Legacy of Vaderhas made things even worse with Jedi Master Grandea, a new Jedi survivor whom Darth Vader never tracked down. While Ahsoka and Ezra’s stories are still ongoing during theNew Republic Era, Luke might have become “The Last Jedi” by the time of the sequel trilogy. However, that’s no longer the case considering Grandea’s existence as another living Jedi.

The Last Jedi’s Title Has Never Made Sense

It’s Just Even Worse Now

Even if it’s revealed in a future issue that Grandea turned away from her Jedi path, the fact remains that she either is or was a Jedi still alive during the original trilogy and beyond. It further cements the idea thatThe Last Jedihas never fully made sense.

Besides Luke, there were plenty of livingStar Warscharacters trained and capable of representing the legacy of the Jedi and could carry on what they stood for, at least during the original trilogy and New Republic Era. Now Grandea confirms the same was just as true during the sequels.Even if it was just her, it provesThe Last Jediin reference to Luke was never quite accurate.

Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #6is now on sale from Marvel Comics.
