Splatoon 2’srelease is just two months away and Nintendo is banking on the popular Wii U IP to helpfurther drive sales for its new console. The Switch is definitely putting up impressive numbers with justBreath of the WildandMario Kart 8available as flagship titles (both of which can be played on the Wii U), so it will be very interesting to see if those sales rise even higher with the arrival ofSplatoon 2. To help bring more Nintendo fans into the Switch generation, the company is releasing someSplatoon 2themed hardware and peripherals in Japan and Europe to sweeten the pot.
Nintendo took to Twitter to announce that theSplatoon 2Switch bundle will be coming to Europe and Japan (sorry, Americans) this summer. The Japanese console bundle includes the green and pink Joy-Cons packed in, whereas the Euro bundle includes the morestandard neon red and neon blue. In addition to the bundle, European and Japanese shoppers will also be able to pick up aSplatoon 2Switch carrying case, aSplatoon 2Switch Pro Controller, and the green and pink Joy-Cons separate from the console bundle.
Here’s a look at the lineup of products…
Despite the fact that Nintendo Switch peripherals and accessories come withsome shockingly high price tags, theseSplatoon 2items are pretty tempting. Unfortunately, there’s no hint that these items will be receiving a U.S. release at this point or anytime in the near future. American gamers can hold out hope that the green and pink items make their way across the ocean eventually, but this wouldn’t be the first time Nintendo decided against releasing certain limited items in the states. We’ll keep an eye out for a more concrete answer from Nintendo in the near future, so be sure to check back for updates.
