Just 10 days after its last major accomplishment,Ninjalahas dashed past yet another exciting milestone. ThisSplatoon-inspired bubblegum arena brawler can now celebrate 3 million downloads worldwide.

GungHo Entertainment thanked its fans for the impressive achievement on their Japanese Twitter account earlier today, also promising players another congratulatory gift of 100 Jala to mark the occasion. The existingNinjalalaunch celebration will continue to award new players 300 Jala as well, so new players who download before August 26 can start off the game with a total bonus of 400 Jala.

Ninjalahas drawn praise for being a wacky free-to-play physical brawler, and for reminding players of the belovedSplatoonseries with its splashy design aesthetic. The game allows players to spend these gifted Jala on cosmetic items, which can be purchased directly, or through a “gumball machine” that dispenses a random assortment of them. Players can use these skins to customize both their avatarandthe weapons they’ll use toscore Ippon on other ninjas.

Insofar as free options, players can earn Jala through gameplay, but it’s a tough hunt without thepaid Ninjala Pass- Jala are rarely rewarded by the Free Pass, and are otherwise only available for purchase, or given through literal giveaways (like the aforementioned one).

Thankfully though, bubblegum ninjas have been able to enjoy an influx of free Jala since the game’s launch. First, in celebration of the launch itself, and shortly thereafter, in celebration of one, and then two, million downloads. Players have also already been offered Jala as compensation for early server issues, which is to say,Ninjalahas been no stranger to criticism either. Fans of the stylish fighter have been critical of its confusing interface, luck-based parrying system, and more recently, of aninadequate patch to its ranking system. Nonetheless, players seem to enjoy the gum-chewing ninja action.
