Nike Just Announced a Fashion Collaboration With Yu-Gi-Oh!
The Collection Was Teased on July 24th With a Post Featuring Nike and the Words “Yu-Gi-Oh” Together
Nike posted a simple black announcement poster combining the familiar Nike swoosh logo and the words “Yu-Gi-Oh”, hinting at the upcoming collaboration. This was not the first mention of a Nike andYu-Gi-Oh!partnership though, shoe-focused news websiteSneaker Newsposted some brand-new information about the team-up back in March.
According to Sneaker News,Nike will be debuting an Air Max “Muscle” 95 style sneaker based onYu-Gi-Oh!‘sKatsuya Jonouchi, or Joey Wheeler.As a major part ofYu-Gi-Oh!‘sstory, Joey is a great focus for this team-up with Nike, and the sneakers are meant to appear identical to the ones he wears throughout the anime series.
InYu-Gi-Oh!,Air Muscles are a type of ] comfortable, high-tech, and sought-after American sneakers, and they seem to be almost identical to Nikes.Yu-Gi-Oh!,of course, never calls them Nikes by name, but the similarities are impossible to ignore. “Air Max Muscle 95,” the official name of Nike’s new sneaker, subtly calls back toJoey’s shoes in theYu-Gi-Oh!anime.

Nike Also Plans to Release Various Yu-Gi-Oh! Inspired Clothing Items, Including Jackets and T-Shirts
Nike promises two different colorways, adding variety to theYu-Gi-Oh!drop. In the anime, Joey has two iconic pairs of sneakers, gray and navy, and they will both be recreated by Nike for fans to sport themselves. More than just sneakers will be available for purchase; Nike has plans for a clothing collection as well.
The Nike xYu-Gi-Oh!collection will include two different pairs of sneakers priced at $200 each, two different jackets priced at $200 each, and two different t-shirts priced at $35 each.
The clothing line will include a Nike Destroyer Jacket, in either a Blue Void or Off White style, and two Nike Swoosh t-shirts, one black and one white. The clear star of the collaboration, the sneakers, will cost about $200 a pair, the jacket will cost $200, and the t-shirts will cost $35 each.
TheYu-Gi-Oh!collection will not be Nike’sfirst foray into the world of anime; the brand has also createdNarutoAir Force Ones and variousPokémon-themed shoes in the past. Nike’s post guarantees more information soon regarding theYu-Gi-Oh!collaboration, which is sure to be a hit because of its stylishness and accuracy to the anime.
