Goor addresses the fact thatNew York is home to the biggest outbreakin the United States. “But the question is how they have been affected by the virus and the pandemic as New York City residents and as first responders in New York City. How do we keep the show funny?” Goor said in the interview.

Goor believes the show could feature the coronavirus as the main storyline of season eight, but has also looked at making it a minor storyline for a couple episodes. The show is currently in early stages of planning for the next season. Only one virtual meeting has been held with the writers, in which they pitched different scenarios like the coronavirus being cured in two weeks.
