Despite the films garnering a bad reputation when helmed by Michael Bay, theTransformerslive-action movie franchise has seen a new lease of life following the release of 2018’sBumblebee.For the first time in a number of years, fans are excited to see where theTransformersfranchise’s heading next, especially as the series has ditched Bay and allegedly given Hasbro more creative control.
Luckily for fans, it seems there’s finally more news on when the next entry in the franchise will hit screens, with Paramount announcing that the untitled seventh mainline film in the series will be launching on July 03, 2025. That’s the longest gap betweenTransformersmoviesto date, which is likely a good thing following the fatiguing number of releases the franchise released when Bay had creative control.

What the film will be about is anyone’s guess, however, rumors seem to indicate that the new slate of movies will act as something of a refresh for the series overall. Joby Harold, the writer behindKing Arthur and the Legend of The Sword, and James Vanderbilt, the screenwriter who pennedZodiac, are allegedly both writing stories centered in theTransformersuniverse, so the title will likely come from the mind of either industry figure.
Alongside this, it seemsToy Story 4directorJosh Cooley will be tackling an animatedTransformersprequelcentered around the rivalry between Optimus Prime and Megatron. It seems Paramount is open to trying new ideas with the popular franchise, and it’s great to see the results allowing for some more experimental takes on the series going forward.
The seventh live-action film in theTransformersfranchise will release on June 28, 2025.
